Join HPP webinar on system readiness in cancer care

10 September 2021

To coincide with the 2021 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, The Health Policy Partnership (HPP) is holding a webinar on 21 September to launch a policy brief, Fostering system readiness in cancer care.

The event will feature leading experts in the fields of oncology, health systems research and sustainability, who will discuss the importance of health system readiness for new and emerging interventions in all areas of cancer.

As we look towards recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have an opportunity to protect the sustainability and resilience of cancer care. Assessment frameworks, such as the Radioligand Therapy Readiness Assessment Framework, are useful tools to support data-driven planning for cancer care, integrating new therapies and optimising outcomes for people with cancer.

HPP developed the new policy brief with input from a multidisciplinary International Expert Advisory Group, to provide reflections on the importance of readiness in cancer care and how it can be defined, assessed and operationalised.

The webinar takes place on Tuesday 21 September, 14:00–15:30 CEST, and will be moderated by Dr Suzanne Wait, Managing Director of The Health Policy Partnership.

Speakers include:

  • George Wharton, London School of Economics and Political Science
  • Prof. Ken Herrmann, Essen University Hospital
  • Alex Filicevas, World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition and All.Can International
  • Pascal Garel, European Hospital and Healthcare Federation
  • Antonella Cardone, European Cancer Patient Coalition
